Service Description: This map shows where seniors reside in the city, and emphasizes areas where seniors are more than 10% of the total. The map layers show a dot distribution to represent the population, where each dot represents a number of people age 65 and over in that area. The dot values are adjusted by scale to get the best representation of the distribution. The value of each dot is roughly halved with each increase in scale, from 100 persons per dot at city-wide scales, to 3 persons per dot at neighborhood scale. For areas which contain a high proportion of seniors (more than 10%), added emphasis is given a transparent polygon underneath the dots. How to make this map for your city This map shows where senior populations are found throughout the world. Areas with more than 10% seniors are highlighted with a dark red shading while a dot representation reveals the number of seniors and their distribution in bright red. This dataset is comprised of multiple sources. All of the demographic data are from Michael Bauer Research with the exception of the following countries: Australia: Esri Australia and MapData Services Canada: Esri Canada and Environics France: Esri France Germany: Esri Germany and Nexiga India: Esri India and Indicus Japan: Esri Japan South Korea: Esri Korea and OPENmate Spain: Esri España and AIS United States: Esri Demographics
